Meet Filip, building mobile apps since 2013. Laid off 3 years ago, he went full founder-mode β and made it. 30,000 new users last month. You've probably never heard of his apps.
We're introducing each of the residents joining the Uneed Residency in Nantes, France, from May 26 to June 2.
Filip has been building mobile apps since 2013. Three years ago, he got laid off. Instead of looking for a new job, he went full founder-mode β and didn't stop until he made it. And he made it.
Last year, he partnered up with Emanuele (who's also coming to the residency β we'll introduce him soon) to build a mobile venture studio. Filip handles product full-stack (thanks Claude π ), Emanuele is on the marketing side β although he does his fair share of vibe coding too.
Several apps, mostly in stealth. During the residency, they'll probably be working on their travel assistant app.
The numbers already speak for themselves: 30K new users in a single month. When you're pulling those numbers while still flying under the radar, you know something's working.
Growth and conversion rate optimization. When you're already adding 30,000 new users a month, it's not about validation anymore β it's about optimization. Turning downloads into engaged users, and engaged users into paying customers.
The product-market fit is there. Now it's about squeezing every drop out of that funnel.
Fun, sharing experiences, and the energy you get when you're surrounded by like-minded builders. Sometimes you just need a week with people who get it.
Fun fact: Filip and Emanuele are the first duo we're welcoming as a venture studio β not just one product, but a whole portfolio of apps. That's a first for the residency.
We'll introduce all of them before the residency kicks off π.
Best,
Thomas from Uneed

Meet the Residents #8: Nicolas Papegaey π«π·
Meet Nicolas, laid off and building apps for fun β until 120,000+ downloads and 3,500 subscriptions turned it into a full-time career. Design-obsessed, mobile-first, and just getting started.
